Hengar granules used for the prevention of bumping in Kjeldahl distillation. These smooth boiling granules effectively prevent bumping and super-heating of boiling liquids. When granules are placed in a liquid, boiling proceeds constantly and quietly. Any gases formed in the liquid are swept out rapidly and completely. High purity, white amphoteric alundum granule. Extremely hard porous surface. Will not crumble or "powder". Ten mesh granule size. Selenized granules are specially treated for use in determination of amino and cyanide nitrogen and are a blue black in color. Four mesh size. Selenium as a solid is relatively not toxic. Selenium as a vapor is highly toxic.
