ASTM D-323, Fed. Spec. Method 1201.4. MGM Model 1B (non-pressure type) for testing samples that can be handled at atmospheric pressures. All metal parts made of stainless steel and joints are welded with stainless steel. Seal is accomplished with synthetic rubber O-rings, with no metal-to-metal seals. All chambers and removable parts are interchangeable with other 1B bombs, or with other 2B bombs. Chamber heads are tapered inside to allow quick drainage. Each bomb is tested to 1000 lbs. hydrostatic pressure. Bomb consists of three parts; air chamber, liquid chamber and gauge adapter at top.
